Here are some questions we frequently are asked along with our answers:
Is chiropractic Safe?
Yes, chiropractic care is remarkably safe, and has an excellent safety record. It is the result of a conservative approach to health that avoids invasive procedures or addictive drugs.
What sort of training does a Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) receive?
A DC receives a 4 year BS degree and an additional 4 years of medical training from an accredited chiropractic university. Then, he/she has to pass National and State boards in order to receive a license to practice. Also, a chiropractor has to receive 24 credit hours of training every year in order to maintain his license. Dr. Roper received his BS and MS from NC State University, and an MBA from Duke University. He graduated from Life Chiropractic University in 1989 where he was Salutatorian of his senior class.
How long will the exam take ?
The initial office visit for a new patient will take approximately one hour. This can be reduced to 45 minutes if you have your paperwork completed prior to your first visit (see New Patient Forms on our Home Page).
Will I have to disrobe ?
Sometimes. This depends on where your pain is located and what your problem is. If so, you will be given a long gown to wear while Dr. Roper examines the affected area. This will be handled in a very professional and discreet manner.
